Inquiry Process
The inquiry process began with the proposal, which had an interesting start. It involved using art for therapeutic means, and was soon replaced with a much better topic. The inquiry topic became "how is art graded in the classroom?" with the follow-up questions "what sort of curriculum does an art class follow?" and "how do students think art should be graded?".
The next thing to happen was setting up some way to get a primary source of information. I set up a day to visit my old high school and sit in on an art class, and ask the students and teacher my questions, and record their responses. There also was the researching of secondary resources, which mostly consisted of different online articles found through the UNCC Library website.
When I finally went to interview the teacher and students of the high school art class, I had a good time. I got to catch up with some of my old teachers, as well as gather the information I needed. The info I got was very useful.
I wrote the the final paper in the form of a play, which I rather liked. I liked writing that way much more than writing in the form of an academic research paper. I'm glad of the way it turned out in the end.
